Our Process

With the life insurance industry changing so rapidly, there are always products and concepts that we must stay on top of to best serve you.

Applying for life insurance is similar to maintaining a sound credit score—one wrong move could follow you.

Life Insurance companies have access to the medical information bureau, your pharmacy records, motor vehicle reports, among many other sources to make sure that they have cross referenced the information for complete accuracy in order to make you the correct offer.

If a company declines you or offers you a rated policy (which cost additional money) any company that you apply with in the future will see that you were declined and they will then request the reason for the decline before they issue you a policy. Make sure you trust the agent you are dealing with. We work with several different companies that all cater to different clients and circumstances that you may be facing.

  • First, we want to know about you. Your life insurance policy is as unique as your fingerprint—we want to design it correctly, so the more we know, the better. We will also review your current coverage.
  • We will conduct a personal interview to help us further determine your needs. We want to make sure you are protected against a disability, critical illness, or any other circumstance that may apply to you.
  • We will review with you a customized proposal(s), providing you with several logical options to make sure you are making the most informed buying decision. We don't just want to sell you one life insurance policy; we want your insurance business for life.
  • After a plan has been selected, we will submit the application to the company for underwriting. This process can take anywhere from 1 to 8 weeks depending on the company and plan chosen.

  • Once the company makes an offer, we will review the policy details with you to make sure everything is correct and as applied for.

While life insurance is something you may already have, we make sure it has been set up correctly. We will review it for free, even if you are not currently a client!

Ever wonder how life insurance is priced? The cost of most policies is determined by:

  1. Age
  2. Gender
  3. Health
  4. Nicotine Use
  5. Amount of coverage requested
  6. Plan Selected (Term, Return of Premium Term, Universal Life, Equity Indexed Universal Life, Whole Life, etc)

Each company evaluates these factors very differently so knowing the plan and face amount if only part of the process.

Common Questions . . .

Is life insurance the only thing you offer?

No. While we do specialize in life insurance, we also offer disability, long-term care, and critical illness policies. For your health, car, and homeowner's insurance needs, we have many helpful and qualified associates to whom we can refer you.

What companies do you represent?

We are an independent insurance agency so we do not have any requirements to place your business with certain companies like many agents do. We only work for you!
